Aintree Hospital unveiled a flock of mini Lambanana’s to place around the wards and grounds. Staff across the Trust were asked to create a design as part of the City’s Capital of Culture celebrations.. Their imaginative creations have been brought to life by artist Ronan Bowes. The chosen flock are: Lamb-baa-da ; The Superlambbeatlesbanana08; Blue Flower Fairies Playing Hide and Seek; Superlambanana Armada; RedRam ; Vitalicious Lambanana ; Super Firelambanana ; Lamb Chop; Lamb of Faith and Hot in the Kitchen. The Lambanana’s will  brighten up the lives of the patients and visitors who come to the hospital.

This one’s on the top of the BDP offices on St.Peter’s Square off Seel Street and was designed by BDP and Shape Design.  BDP is an international practice of architects, engineers and designers with over 1,100 people in the company worldwide. The Liverpool office was set up in 2003 and has been active in new design and architecture in the Rope Walk’s area of the city which is the area surrounding their offices.  Suitably, this one’s called Rope Walker!

And this time it’s from the Contemporary Urban Centre on Greenland Street where Design Show Liverpool is being held.

One of the most wonderful things about Liverpool is the huge ethnic range and the colourful people that this brings to the city. I spotted this girl walking through the backstreets of ropewalks, she literally shone out against the street, turning heads as she walked by. 

Believe it or not, Liverpool is the most cash rich city in the country! More retail transactions are made in Liverpool with the old green stuff than anywhere else in the country. Even with all of the works going on around the city, people still fight through iron barricades and around upturned road signs to get to their beloved stores. Here a lone shopper stands with her image-sake, taking a respite from the crowds.

Its a funny old world. Calling in to see PPL this morning to discuss adventures to Barcelona I couldn’t help but notice a big blue Tardis shaped box masquerading as a program carrousel (canny thing a Tardis) on the factory floor. In addition were a number of SuperLambBananas which seem to be contagious in the city at present - how they got here no one knows.

Here the team led by Bill Cotton accompanied by Dave Kelly, Kevin McGoverin, Graham Nuttall, Caroline O’Donovan and Emma Robinson in their Tardis preparing to travel to Royal Birkdale for The Open Golf Championship.
