Every year thousands of bikers visit Wirral from all over Europe to take part in this dash across Wirral. Lots of people dress up in fancy dress ranging from chickens to guerillas. Its a great trip and a visual treat to watch thousands of bikers drive across Wirral.
Tour Liverpool in a yellow Duck. Amphibious sightseeing has arrived. The Duck is a refurbished DUKW, a military ship-to-shore transporter built in the mid 1940’s, ideal for exploring Liverpool’s waterfront and docks. Tour firm Liverpool Ducks has rebuilt two original DUKWs, painted them bright yellow and created a wet and dry route for them to tour around the city.
Set off from the Albert Dock along Liverpool’s historic waterfront, through the city and take in the major sites including The Pier Head, The Three Graces, St. George’s Hall and the Cathedrals. Return to the Albert Dock and drive down the main slipway, splash into the Salthouse Dock itself.The tour continues via Wapping and Queens to Coburg Dock before driving out of the water in front of the Albert Dock buildings.
With up to 13 departures per day between 10.30am and 6.00pm, the 30 seat capacity Ducks offer a unique way for tourists and locals to experience Liverpool.
With the sun just coming out for the end of the day, and a brighter day promised for tomorrow, the sand dunes at Ainsdale form an incredibly dramatic landscape only a few miles from Southport and only half an hour from Liverpool.

Ainsdale beach is still busy at the tail end of a Sunday afternoon in late winter. This view is looking back towards Liverpool with Formby Point in the distance.
On the entrance to the Mersey is Burbo Bank, it consists of 25 wind turbines. The 25 wind turbines are be able to produce 315 million kWh annually, which is equivalent to the yearly consumption of 80,000 households. This is the second with Hoyle Bank to the south.
Terry Keane - a scouser born and bred promise to behave today, it a bit different today he comments when Mods and Rockers would gather for less reasonable reasons - this is his third time. The Liverpool Scouter Club is part of the Lancashire Alliance and hope to be be taking part in the Lord Mayor’s Parade this year. He is riding a 1972 replica of his Lambretta which is sight to behold. He asked to let people know about an annual charity event they hold on the 20th July, the meet happens at the Aigburth Cricket Club on July 20th - Lambretta heaven I would think - see you there!
The Sylvester and Tweety duo on the Egg run are really Colin and Michele Keenan from Hoylake. They are 1st timers on the egg run this year, they have done other events but wanted to do their bit for charity by joining in. The Wirral Egg Run is an annual event which raises money for local children’s charities and donates Easter eggs to hospitalised children. It is expected that between 3,500 and 7,000 bikes will take part. The Wirral Egg Run is the largest event of its kind in Europe.
